Attendance, Pickup, & Behavior Policies

  • Makeup Sessions:

Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup sessions for missed club meetings. However, we encourage you to visit our STEM Lab during school holidays or early release days to keep your child engaged with STEM activities. Club members receive a discounted rate at the STEM Lab, so be sure to use the discount code provided at registration.

    Consistent Attendance:

Consistent attendance is important for your child's growth and understanding of the program material. Frequent absences may impact their ability to fully benefit from the program.

    Communication:

Please keep us informed of any changes to your child's attendance status so we can best support their learning experience.

  • To ensure the smooth operation of our Kids' STEM Club and to respect the time of our staff, we have established the following late pickup policy:

    Pickup Time:

Our program ends promptly at 4:35 PM.

    Grace Period:

We allow a 10-minute grace period, until 4:45 PM, to accommodate any unforeseen delays.

    Late Pickup Fee:

If your child is not picked up by 4:45 PM, a late pickup fee of $10 will be applied for every 15 minutes past 4:45 PM. This fee helps cover the additional costs of staff time.

    Notification:

If you anticipate being late, please inform us as soon as possible by calling or texting (404) 969-2359. This allows us to make necessary arrangements and ensure your child is safe and supervised.

    Emergency Contacts:

It is essential to provide up-to-date emergency contact information at registration. If you encounter any issues with pickup, please ensure that an authorized person can collect your child.

    Consistency:

Repeated late pickups may result in the review of your child’s participation in the club. We strive to maintain a positive experience for all participants, and timely pickup helps us achieve that goal.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy. It helps us maintain a well-organized and enjoyable environment for all our STEM explorers.

  • We strive to create a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. To ensure a productive and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have established the following behavior guidelines:

    1. Respect and Courtesy:

All participants are expected to treat each other, staff, and the equipment with respect. This includes listening attentively, using polite language, and following directions.

    2. Safety First:

Safety is our top priority. Students must follow all safety instructions and guidelines provided by the staff. This includes using equipment properly and reporting any concerns or accidents immediately.

    3. Active Participation:

We encourage all students to engage in activities and discussions at their own pace. We understand that building confidence or overcoming shyness takes time, and we support each child as they grow more comfortable. Participation helps everyone learn and make the most of their time in the club, and we’re here to support each student’s journey.

    4. Positive Interaction:

Bullying, teasing, or any form of negative behavior will not be tolerated. We expect students to work cooperatively, share, and support one another.

    5. Responsibility for Personal Belongings:

Students are responsible for their personal belongings. Please ensure that items such as lunch boxes, water bottles, and personal devices are managed appropriately.
